Shawn is campaigning to offer our community a new choice for mayoral leadership. Our town deserves a municipal government that recognizes the national affordability crisis and prioritizes spending with that reality in mind.
After 15 months of budget advocacy, he has seen firsthand the costly consequences of unprecedented spending and rising debt under the current administration. It has become clear that Aurora needs meaningful reform in its governance structure.
In addition, the repeated misuse of Strong Mayor Power vetoes has created tension, division, and dysfunction within Council. This is not healthy for our community, and it must be addressed. He is committed to restoring democratic balance and championing stronger financial oversight, transparency, accountability, and the consistent use of best practices, across all departments.
