Shawn Deane
He is a lifelong Ontario resident with more than 30 years of business experience. He moved to a new Aurora neighbourhood in 2000 and has proudly called the community home for the past 26 years. He enjoys outdoor activities and tackling ambitious do-it-yourself projects around the house.
Most recently, he has begun adapting to an early retirement and has been dedicating his extra time to local Town politics.
Professional Leadership
Shawn holds a Bachelor’s Degree, in Business, from Brock University. Throughout his career, he has taken on several national roles, including National Project Manager, National Program Manager, National Product Manager, Business Developer, and Sole Proprietor. His commitment to excellence has earned him multiple promotions and individual performance awards, along the way.
Community Experience
Shawn has embraced the many amenities and traditions that make Aurora a vibrant community. Over the years, he has participated in or supported local events such as Concerts in the Park, the Magna Hoedown, Terry Fox Runs, and activities at Legion Branch #385.
He has also contributed his time as a volunteer with the Aurora Farmers’ Market, Habitat for Humanity, Achilles Canada, and as a minor hockey coach. In February 2025, Shawn created a community email group called Budget Voice Aurora and has since been regularly sharing observations and concerns at Town Council meetings.
